Shoe Makeover
I recently decided my "pilgrim" shoes could use some sparkle, especially after I saw some beaded flats at Anthropologie. I had so much fun making these - it was a freehand beading project on felt, repeat, then hot glued onto the shoes. Pretty quick, and very satisfying. This sort of project really relaxes me - and gives me twinkle toes! I know they're over-the-top, but I love them so.

Yay, Moonbeam is back! I always learn stuff... did you actually make the pattern on this fabric?! ....Flickr is ok--- but in the end, it's one more account to manage from a computer-> does not save ANY time (-;
ReplyDeleteHi Katya! Yes, I painted the flower pattern with fabric paint, then embroidered around each design to sew the back fabric to the design fabric. The next step in the process is to cut the top fabric inside each design piece so the back fabric shows through - reverse applique. Very fun! I'll put up some pictures of the finished product so you can see what I mean :)
